- Recycling program in place
- Worn linens and towels converted into housekeeping cleaning cloths
- Soaps and toiletries recycled and donated to our partner Clean the World
- Used cooking oil collected by a local partner and converted into biofuel off-site to power construction equipment
- Food waste diverted from landfill and donated to local farmers for agricultural use
- Over 75% of our food and beverage ingredients are sourced from local farmers, fisheries and purveyors
- Produce sourced from on-island Sensei Farms, which grows in indoor solar-powered hydroponic greenhouses
- Food waste reduction program in place
- Cage-free eggs
- Waters off our coast have been declared a Marine Reserve to promote resilience in our reef
- Complimentary reef-friendly sun care products available for guests
- Our Resort hosts periodic beach and trail clean-ups with employees
- Botanical gardens feature close to a thousand different species of plants, including anthuriums, orchids, philodendrons, palms and an extensive collection of native Hawaiian and Polynesian introduced plants across our Resort’s 24 acres (9.7 hectares)
- Love Lanai Cultural Advisors and Cultural Practitioner and Historian offer programming including tours, demonstrations and cultural experiences where guests can explore Lanai’s bio-cultural landscape and experience the island’s unique spirit and historical legacy, spanning nearly 1,000 years of Hawaiian residency
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training
- Employees volunteer in the local community through fundraising and participation in local charitable events, including island clean-ups, children’s charity activities and food drives
- Focus on partnering with sustainable suppliers for resort purchasing and products
- Suppliers are encouraged to reduce unnecessary packaging
