At Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, we are committed to preserving and regenerating the environment and leaving a positive, enduring impact on our local community. - Member of the Green Globe program for sustainable travel and tourism
- Resort-specific Sustainability Management Plan in place
- Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations available for guest use
- Vegan and vegetarian menu items available
- Linens and towels replaced every third day, unless otherwise requested
- Our Resort is a certified “Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label Hotel” by the Ministry of Tourism
- A significant portion of water is heated at the Resort through heat recovery from air conditioning units, significantly reducing energy requirements for heating
- Water-efficient landscaping, including irrigation using wastewater treated in house
- Water-efficient showers and toilet flush systems in use in all villas and staff areas
- Elimination of single-use plastic water bottles in our villas, suites, gym, spa, restaurants and bars
- Recycling program in place that includes glass, batteries, tyres, and kitchen and engine oils
- Organic waste diversion program in place for landscaping and food waste
- Food waste diverted from landfill and donated to local farmers for use as pig feed
- Local, sustainable and seasonal menu items available
- Aside from cod, all our seafood, including yellowfin tuna, wahoo, grouper, snapper, jobfish, mahi mahi, calamari and octopus, are sourced through local fishermen
- Much of our fruit, such as mango, papaya, coconut and starfruit, are picked from trees on site when seasonally available, while others are sourced locally
- Food waste reduction program in place, including technology implemented in our kitchens to help track, measure, control and reduce food waste
- Local biodiversity support program in place through our marine education and conservation partner WiseOceans, including guest engagement in the Petite Anse Reef Restoration Project to protect and nurture 10,000 square metres (100,000 square feet) of limestone reef in the Resort’s horseshoe bay through coral reef frame installations
- Employees engage in periodic beach and public area cleanups in collaboration with Red Cross and other projects with Anse Royale Primary School
- Guests can engage in educational tours at local, natural, cultural, historical or heritage sites to learn more about the local community, including day trips to local sites and nearby islands hosted by local partners, or a landscape tour of our Resort, formerly a fruit plantation, to pick fruits while learning about their uses in cooking, spa and healing
- Cooking classes are organized for guests who are interested in learning more about the local cuisine
- Linen, furniture and equipment donated to employees in addition to the local community through Seychelles Red Cross Society
- Local artists and artisans featured throughout the Resort, including paintings from Michael Adams Studio and works from a variety of artisans during our weekly Creole night-themed buffet
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training
- Employees volunteer in the local community through a variety of local organizations, including SSTF, Seychelles Red Cross Society and Cancer Concern Association Seychelles
- Employees participate in an annual charity event, Run for Hope, to raise awareness and funds for cancer research
- Eco-certified cleaning products used
