Evening
For dinner, sample a taste of Tanzania in a locally inspired menu at Boma Grill, where you will be treated to a live Maasai performance, or opt for a selection of international specialties at Kula's Restaurant or Maji Bar and Terrace.(Restaurant openings vary from week to week and the exact dining program will be advised on arrival.)
Morning
Prepare for a day of safari sightings as you embark on your first full-day game drive.
Day
Depending on the time of the year, your driver guide will recommend the region most likely to offer the best animal encounters. From late December to April, the southern Serengeti and Ndutu are home to the wildebeest migration and during this period, it is the birthing season for the wildebeest, all of which means predators are never far away. From May to early July, the wildebeest are found spending their mating season in the Western Corridor, where dense, hilly woodland provides a very different backdrop to the Serengeti Plains and the herds must cross the tree-lined Grumeti River, which is reputedly home to some of the largest crocodile's in Africa. In other seasons, the rich grasses of the Togoro Plains, to the north of the Lodge, can become a hotspot for big cats and is an area that is lesser known to many.
Evening
Once back to the Lodge, share your highlights from the day across the dinner table in any of the available outlets.
Morning
Awake early for a 4:30 am departure to the launch site of your hot air balloon safari. Glide across the tranquil Serengeti skies, looking down on the majestic landscape and wildlife below. Upon landing, you will be transferred to your breakfast location – in the heart of the wilderness. After finishing your champagne breakfast, continue on your morning with a Four Seasons game drive to explore the nearby kopjes, on the lookout for big cats amongst the tall grasses and rock formations.
Day
Return to the Lodge by lunch time and unwind with a signature massage at the Spa, before embarking on a five-minute drive to the perfect savannah setting just in time for a spectacular African sunset.
Evening
After your sundowner cocktail, enjoy a bush dinner under the stars lit by the soft glow of lanterns and a warming bonfire.
Morning
Enjoy a relaxing morning at the Lodge, watching out for the elephants visiting the watering hole over an elongated breakfast.
Day
In the afternoon, take a closer look at the savannah on a guided walking safari, where you can discover the thrill of nature step by step, returning in time for sunset and an evening's dinner in the Lodge’s new restaurant, The Vineyard.
Evening
Occupying the Lodge’s wine cellar, The Vineyard offers the opportunity to choose from a tailor-made menu of five or seven courses, where each dish is prepared by our culinary team to suit individual preferences and using the finest ingredients of the season. Available for a supplement, each menu is paired with hand-selected, premium South African wines, all chosen by the Lodge’s sommelier.
Morning
Depart early for a full-day game drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive, volcanic caldera.
Day
On your drive to Olduvai Gorge, cross the Serengeti Plains and pass by Maasai villages. With a picnic packed for you, look forward to lunching at a scenic viewpoint to fully take in your surroundings.
Evening
Return to the Lodge and relax with a dinner at Maji Bar and Terrace.
Morning
After your trip to the Ngorongoro Crater the previous day, take some time to catch up on sleep or relax on your room's private balcony.
Day
Watch over the animal watering hole during lunch and if you desire a taste of adventure in the afternoon, opt for a short game drive to the Retima Hippo Pool, where you have the chance to view the large pod of hippos resting, playing and fighting in the river's shallow waters. On your journey, be sure to keep an eye out for a number of animals, with giraffes, elephants and buffalo amongst many regular faces in this region.
Evening
Celebrate your time in the Serengeti with a magical pool island dinner, where our chefs will prepare a set four-course menu with wine pairings.
On your final day, schedule your itinerary exactly as you wish. For those craving one last game drive adventure, take a three-quarter day drive to the southwest Moru Kopjes-area of the Serengeti, where you may have the chance to spot one of the elusive Black Rhinos that inhabit this area and can learn about the history and cultural significance of Gong Rock and the Rock Paintings. Or, for a full-day excursion, head south to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and start to pass colourful Maasai, grazing their cattle while having an opportunity to visit one of the Maasai Bomas (villages). Proceed on to the famous archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge, where you can visit the museum and learn more about the fossil discoveries made famous by the Leakey family, before ending the day with a visit to the dunes of the “Shifting Sands,” en route back to the Serengeti.
Alternatively, if you wish to enjoy a day of leisure before your departure, relax poolside, stretch out your muscles with a private yoga session or revitalize with a signature spa ritual.
As the sun sets, toast to your final evening with a sundowner cocktail at Maji Bar and Terrace before dinner at your preferred restaurant.
