- Energy-saving guest room controls and building systems
- Water reduction and conservation measures in place
- Elimination of single-use plastics, including water bottles, bathroom amenities, cups, lids, bags, food containers and cutlery
- Recycling program in place for cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, aluminum, cooking oil and toner cartridges
- Organic waste diversion program in place
- Local, sustainable and seasonal menu items available, including at Dani Brasserie, Isa Restaurant & Cocktail Bar and El Patio, which support small, local and sustainability-focused artisan farmers
- All hotel restaurants offer free-range eggs
- Implementation of AI-based technology focused on reducing food waste
- Responsibly sourced seafood options available
- Guests can engage in educational tours at local, natural, cultural, historical or heritage sites to learn more about the local community, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites Toledo and Segovia and world-class art museums such as Museo del Prado, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía
- Local artists’ and artisans’ work featured throughout our Hotel, including nearly 1,500 paintings, photographs, sculptures and engravings
- Reflecting the Hotel’s historic architecture are reproductions of classic plasters from Madrid’s legendary Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando
- Linen, furniture and equipment donated to the local community
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training
- Creation of job opportunities for unhoused individuals and those at risk of social exclusion, as well as individuals with intellectual disabilities such as those with Down Syndrome through collaborations with HogarSI, Prodis Foundation, Down Madrid, the A LA PAR Foundation and Tomillo Foundation
- Provide employment opportunities for young people through a collaboration with the Pinardi Social Federation
- Excess edible food donated to the Altius Foundation weekly in support of those in need
- Volunteering initiatives for employees to support local charitable organizations such as UNINICIO, the National Association for Down Syndrome, HOGAR SÍ, Prodis Foundation, Pinardi Federation, Fundación a La Par, TaxiLuz and community social centres
- The spa boutique offers wellness products, bags, jewellery and bathing apparel created by Spanish businesses
- We engage suppliers on our Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy to prioritize carbon emissions reductions, bulk purchasing, lower impact packaging solutions and locally sourced, fair trade and environmentally concious products
