- SOCOTEC Sustainability Management System for Hotels–certified – Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is a Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)–recognized standard
- Energy sourced from renewable or carbon-free sources, including on-site solar power generation for hot water heating and electricity, meets a sizeable portion of our total energy needs
- Energy-saving building systems
- Water-efficient landscaping, including the use of greywater and rainwater harvesting for irrigation
- Elimination of single-use plastic water bottles, straws, food and beverage containers, and lotion, shampoo and conditioner bottles
- Water filtration and bottling system to eliminate thousands of plastic bottles each year
- Local, sustainable and seasonal menu items available
- On-site organic herb and vegetable garden
- Food waste reduction program in place
- Responsibly sourced seafood, with 90% of the fish served having been caught in the waters of Bora Bora by local fishermen
- Local biodiversity support program in collaboration with our education and conservation partner, WiseOceans, includes guest engagement in coral planting, which improves lagoon health and diversifies and regenerates marine fauna
- Led by our Resort’s marine biologists, the Lagoon Sanctuary is a research facility dedicated to preserving marine life through guest education, interaction and coral grafting
- Guests have the option to donate to preserve the biodiversity of the lagoon
- Resort sponsorship of a Reef Check Foundation survey zone
- Option for a self-guided botanical tour
- Guests can engage in educational tours at local, natural, cultural, historical or heritage sites to learn more about the local community through our concierge, including a curated Heiva I Bora Bora Festival experience, and in-house Tahitian Monoi oil and Polynesian shell necklace-making classes
- Linen, furniture and equipment donated to the local community through schools and Association Ia Vai Ma Noa Bora Bora, a non-profit dedicated to the economical, social and environmental development of the island-state
- Excess edible food is donated to those in need through the local charity Caddy du coeur
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training
- Employees volunteer and support charitable organizations in the local community, including Annual Island Clean-Up Day, various schools, animal shelters and a centre for people with disabilities
- Organization and support of events for cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation and local association Amazones Pacific
- Focus on partnering with sustainable suppliers for resort purchasing and products
- On-site boutique features artisanal products from local creators
